This page will help you install 'Companions Of Xanth' on your Windows computer. Because Companions of Xanth is a fairly old game, it is fairly complicated and different than the installation of games you are probably used to. Step 1: Download the File
      Only Xanthians can access this Download, so you'll need to
Click Here to Sign Up with Xo before downloading the game and continuing installation. Once you've signed up and logged in, return to this page for further instruction.

Step 2: Extract the Folder

Next you'll need to extract the installation files from the .zip you have downloaded. If you are running on Windows ME or Windows XP, right click the downloaded file and select 'Extract All...'. You will then need to press the 'Next' button a couple times on the window that comes up, and finally the 'Finish' button.       If you are not running on Windows XP or Windows ME, you will need to download a extraction program, like Winzip. Winzip is fairly easy to use, and you can refer to its help files to learn how to extract from the downloaded folder.

Step 3: Run the Installation File

Now its time to install the game from your newly extracted files. You should now have a folder called 'CoXanth' in the same place that you originally put 'CoXanth.zip'. If CoXanth did not open automatically after extraction, open it now by double clicking.       You should see 4 files. Three of them have numbers in their name, and one does not. The one which does not is simply named 'XANTH' or 'XANTH.exe', double click this file to install the game.

Step 4: Installing The Game

A window with a black background should open. This is a command prompt window. It should inquire as the picture does to the right, asking you to type Yes, No, Always, or Cancel. You want to simply type 'A' (which stands for Always). It will install a bit of the game, and then ask you a similar question. Just continue pressing 'A' to each question, until the installation is complete and the installation window closes automatically.

Step 5: Play the Game!

A new folder created itself in your CoXanth folder. It is simply called 'XANTH'. This is your game directory, open it. There are many files in this directory... Browse through them and find the file named 'XANTH' (or 'XANTH.exe')- This is your run file. Everytime you want to play the game, just double click on this file to play.
